details of the forthcoming talks and visits organised by the
Gloucestershire Group of the NCCPG are listed for 2007.
Visitors
are welcome to each lecture meeting (Entry £1.00 except
where indicated) Members of other NCCPG Groups free.

All
meetings will start at 2pm and are held at the Shurdington
Social Centre in the Century Hall, unless otherwise statedsee
map below.
Each meeting will start with a plant discussion followed by
a talk beginning at about 2.20pm. Plants will be available
for sale before and after the meeting. Coffee or tea with
cake will be served after the talk.

2006
December 9: John
Grimshaw on Colesbourne and its snowdrops. John is well known
in the snowdrop world and at the moment is helping to restore
Colesbourne, the estate of the Elwes family.
2007
January 13: Jo
Sharman on hellebores. Joe is the co-owner of Monksilver Nursery
nr. Cambridge. Plants will be brought for sale.
February 10: Carrie
Thomas on aquilegias. Carrie holds the National Plant Collection
of aquilegias. She will bring seeds and possibly plants for
sale.
March 10: Glyn
Jones on Recent Developments at Hidcote. Glyn is the new head
gardener at Hidcote.
April 14: Tony
Titchen on the world of magnolias. Tony will bring magnolia
seedlings for sale.
Sunday. 29th April: Visit
to RBG Kew.
Saturday June 2nd: 10am
– 4pm Plant Fair at Hartpury College.

– 12-00 National Cistus Collection. 13.45/14.00 Hunts

Aug 11th: Keith
Turner on Natural landscapes of Chile. Keith
is one of our members who often visits Chile.
Sept.8th: John
Sutton on New Hardy Perennials for the 21st. Century. A return
visit. John is a professional horticultural journalist, photographer
and author.
October 13: Don
Witton on euphorbias and Other Spring Flowers. Don holds the
National Collection of euphorbias. He will bring unusual euphorbias
for sale.
November 10: Wol
Staines on Glen Chantry, Then and Now. Wol is the co owner
of Glen Chantry, a garden and nursery in Essex. He will bring
plants for sale.
December 8: Dr
Michael Keith-Lucas, on Global Warming and Gardening. Michael
is a lecturer in the Dept. of Plant Sciences at the University
of Reading. |
